About x header images
X headers are 1500x500 and the awkward part is not the ratio, it is the avatar. Your profile picture is drawn as a circle overlapping the lower left of the header, and on a narrow phone the visible band is shorter than 500 pixels, so the avatar takes a proportionally bigger bite out of what is left.
These are composed with the lockup right of centre and the invite in the right third, leaving the lower left as scene. It costs nothing, because the backdrop fills the space anyway, and it makes a profile look deliberately laid out rather than cropped from something wider.
X does not animate header images, so this ships as a still rendered at 3000x1000 and delivered at 1500x500 for a clean downscale. For motion on X, the square and vertical MP4 clips in the same pack post as media directly.

Questions
What size is an X header?
1500x500. X crops height on narrow screens and overlaps the lower left with your avatar, so the lockup belongs right of centre.
Can an X header be animated?
No, X shows header images as stills. Post the square or vertical MP4 from the same pack as media if you want motion.
