Discord
Discord shows your server icon at 48 pixels in the sidebar. Everything you put in the corners is cropped off by the circle anyway.

The server icon is the small round image in the left sidebar, and in terms of how often it is looked at, it beats everything else a Discord community owns. It is also the asset most often designed as if it were going to be seen large.
Discord stores it at 512x512 and renders it at 48 pixels in the server rail, a little larger in the member list and in search. Then it crops it to a circle. Those two facts together mean a very short list of things actually work: a single bold mark, strong contrast against the sidebar grey, and a safe margin so the circular crop takes background rather than part of the symbol. A full server name does not work. A detailed scene does not work. The 512x512 in a pack is laid out at 48 pixels and scaled up, not the other way round.
Animation unlocks at boost Level 1, which is the cheapest tier and the one most active servers reach. An animated icon in the sidebar is genuinely effective because it is the only moving thing in a column of still circles. The animated file is a GIF at 16fps over 3.2 seconds with a 176-colour palette, under 7.8MB so it uploads without argument.
The pack also writes a 256x256 copy of the same render, which is what Discord bots, webhook avatars and most third-party server listing sites want.
Cropped to a circle and shown at 48 pixels, so only a scene that reduces to one bold shape still reads.
